For more than 25 years Ian Boumphrey has been publishing local history books focused on Wirral, in the north west of England, as well as running a busy distribution company across the region.

He has turned out a series of books called Yesterday’s Wirral that sell out within months of hitting the shelves. Ian runs this small publishing firm from his home in Prenton, Wirral. He is currently working on his 50th book, most of them since he turned to publishing full time fifteen years ago. This year he published Wirral on the Home Front 1939-45 which is currently a best seller and reprinted Birkenhead at War 1939-45. He has also collaborated with the well known cartoonist Bill Stott resulting in seven books.

Apart from this fascinating literary output Ian is busy running his own book distribution company that largely covers Wirral but can take in other local outlets in the region. He handles all the distribution points on Wirral for cities500.
