Zhang Xin worked as a senior sub-editor on China Daily, the only English language daily newspaper in China, after studying journalism and English literature at Beijing Foreign Studies University.

He was also the featured social-commentary columnist on the weekly publication 21st Century where his views and observations became a must read for the burgeoning English speaking student - and increasingly entrepreneurial - population in China.

He is now a specialist editorial trainer on the international on-line edition of China Daily and maintains a lifelong interest in Chinese - as well as foreign - literature. He worked with cities500 on The Shanghai Friendship Arch book and is one of our principal China and Far East editorial consultants.
