Hartmut Lüning is a highly professional and distinguished broadcast journalist who works for
Deutsche Welle in Germany. He is currently based in Cologne/Bonn and looks after current and Far East affairs.
He was based in Beijing as the German language broadcast expert with China Radio International (CRI) for many years, and he retains those links with China and the Far East in general. His wife, Farida, is a consultant language editor with China Central Television (CCTV) in Beijing. He was recently
recognised for his professional contributions to the developing and burgeoning media sector in China by the Chinese Government and was presented with a special medal by Vice Premier Madame Wu Yi.
He has more than thirty years experience as a journalist, broadcaster and editorial consultant adviser. He assisted cities500 on the German language content of the recent book Urban Reflections: a bi-lingual (English and German) production in a ground breaking publishing collaboration with
Hewlett-Packard - and other partners such as IncrediBull Ideas, Echo Research and Hill & Knowlton - that has been distributed throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He is the cities500 editorial consulant for Germany and other parts of Europe.
